Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Icelandic highlands on the Laugavegur & Fimmvörðuháls Hiking Tour. This six-day trek is an extraordinary journey through some of Iceland's most stunning landscapes, perfectly blending two of the country's most famous trails.
Your adventure begins in the renowned geothermal area of Landmannalaugar, a spectacular start to this trek. Under the guidance of an experienced guide, you’ll navigate through a kaleidoscope of landscapes. The trail takes you over multicolored rhyolite hills and expansive black sand deserts, alongside winding gullies, and through impressive canyons. As you traverse these diverse terrains, you’ll encounter lush green valleys leading to the mystical Þórsmörk, known as the valley of Thor.
From Þórsmörk, the second leg of your trek ascends, weaving between massive glaciers. You’ll climb towards the awe-inspiring craters at Fimmvörðuháls, witnessing the raw beauty and geological wonders that make the Icelandic highlands so captivating. The path through Fimmvörðuháls unveils a landscape shaped by both ancient and recent volcanic activity, creating a terrain that is as fascinating as it is beautiful.
After exploring the rugged beauty of Fimmvörðuháls and returning to the base at Básar in Þórsmörk, your journey concludes with a tranquil hike in the lush Þórsmörk valley. This final stretch allows you to soak in the serene ambiance of this natural oasis, reflecting on the adventure you’ve embarked upon.
Throughout the trek, you'll find comfort and relaxation in cozy mountain huts, where you can unwind and enjoy delicious Icelandic cuisine, making each evening a time to rejuvenate and share stories with fellow trekkers.
