Venture into the heart of a glacier.
Ready for an adventure! Visit a unique and remote man-made ice cave in Langjökull Glacier, one of Iceland's largest and most spectacular glaciers. Climb the glacier in a specially-designed monster truck before delving deep inside the glacier.
The tour begins from BSÍ Bus Terminal, where you board the bus and are driven to hidden Húsafell, a scenic hamlet in the west of Iceland. Along the way, the tour will stop at Europe's most powerful hot springs, Deildartunguhver, the beautiful Hraunfossar lava waterfall, and Barnafossar children’s waterfall. You can see glacial water seeping through a wall of lava rock!
After a lunch break in Húsafell, the tour heads to Langjökull Glacier in a vast, specially modified glacier vehicle. You’ve never seen a vehicle like this! The gigantic tyres deflate on the climb up the glacier as you power along. On clear days, the view is spectacular and the ride alone is worth the trip! It will transport us nearly to the top of the glacier, where we will enter the magnificent cave.
After jumping out of the monster truck, you find yourself standing on top of a vast ice cap, ready to enter the glacier and explore its icy underworld. Standing on the glacier and taking in its wild, remote beauty is incredible. Imagine standing on an ice cap reaching 200 metres below your feet!
The glacier guide will take you on a fantastic journey deep within the glacier, where you can see the stunning blue ice walls and run your fingers along the frozen tunnel.
After the ice cave tour, you will be transported back to Reykjavik with memories that will last a lifetime. What an adventure!
