TERMS & CONDITIONS – WIN A TRIP TO ICELAND SWEEPSTAKES

Eligibility

The Win a Trip to Iceland by Icelandia Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") is open to individuals who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of the company (“Icelandia”) and their immediate families, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, and fulfilment agencies are not eligible to enter. Voidwhere prohibited by law.

Sweepstakes Validity

The competition launches on 3 October 2024 and ends on 31. October 2024. The winner will be randomly selected and announced 5. November 2024.

Entry

To enter, follow the instructions on the official competition post on Instagram. Follow the Icelandia and Center Hotels Instagram pages, comment on the stipulated competition post on Instagram, and share the post to your Instagram stories.

The Prize

1. A $1500 Icelandair gift certificate for flights to Iceland.
2. A 2-night stay for two in a Deluxe King in Grandi by Center Hotels including breakfast, and spa access.
3. Complimentary Flybus transfer from the airport to the hotel for two people.
4. Golden Circle and Friðheimar OR Northern Lights Tour by Icelandia (depending on the season of travel) for two people.
5. A signed copy of ‘ICELAND AT NIGHT’ Your Guide to Northern Lights and Stargazing in Iceland by Sævar Helgi Bragason & Babak Tafreshi.

No cash or other substitution of prizes is permitted, except at the sole discretion of Icelandia. Prizes are non-transferable.The prize must be redeemed with a travel date before the flight gift certificate expires.

The flight gift certificate awarded in the sweepstakes are valid exclusively for routes operated by the selected airline, from designated departure cities to Iceland. Please note that the flight gift certificates are subject to availability and can only be redeemed for flights originating from locations served by the airline to destinations within Iceland.

The availability of flight routes is determined by the airline's operational schedule and may vary depending on the time of booking. It is the responsibility of the winner to ensure that their departure location is included in the airline's service network.

No alternative transportation or compensation will be provided for winners residing outside the airline's service areas.

Icelandia shall not be responsible for delays, cancellations, or rescheduling of travel due to any force majeure event.

The limitations on travel time and length of stay are based on the rules of the purchased fare.

The flight gift certificate value excludes the payment of airport and travel taxes

Icelandair Gift Certificates are subject to the following terms and conditions:

1. The Gift Certificates are valid for a period of five years from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated. The validity of a Gift Certificate cannot be extended after it has been issued, unless otherwise stated.
2. The Gift Certificates can be used as payment for all scheduled Icelandair flights, as well as flights with another airline if the booking is made directly with Icelandair (on their website, through a sales agent, or other direct means). They can also be used for packages booked through Icelandair's website, as long as the package is organized by Icelandair and booked through Icelandair's website or a sales agent.
3. The Gift Certificates can be combined with Saga Points and/or money for fare payment.
4. The Gift Certificates cannot be used in business transactions with third-party companies that are not affiliated with Icelandair, even if those companies are selling Icelandair flights or packages.
5. The Gift Certificates can be used as payment for taxes, fees, and extra services on board (such as extra baggage, seat selection, and change fees/fare differences), unless otherwise stated on the Gift Certificate.
6. The Gift Certificates are non-refundable by Icelandair.
7. The reselling of Icelandair Gift Certificates through company loyalty or reward programs is strictly prohibited without direct consent from Icelandair.
8. Icelandair reserves the right to refuse a Gift Certificate as a form of payment from third-party travel organizers or agents organizing tours for the public.
9. Icelandair is not responsible for any damage caused by theft or misuse of a Gift Certificate.

Tax Implications

All federal, state, and local taxes, fees, and surcharges, if any, on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winners.

Selection and Notification

The winner will be selected by a random drawing from all eligible entries received. The winner will be notified via Instagram messenger and, thereafter, via email within five (5) business days of the drawing. If a selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to claim a prize within 15 days, the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner will be selected.

By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to allow Icelandia to use their name, photograph, likeness, and any statements made by the winner regarding the prize for advertising or promotional purposes in any media without further compensation, except where prohibited by law.

General Terms

By entering, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Participants, by participating in this Sweepstakes, hereby waive and release, and agree to hold harmless, Icelandia, its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of its respective officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss, or damage of any kind to person, including death, and property, arising whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of a prize, participation in this Sweepstakes, or participation in any Sweepstakes-related activity.

Icelandia shall not be responsible for delays, cancellations, or rescheduling of travel due to any force majeure event.

Data Collection

Icelandia collects personal data from participants when they enter the Sweepstakes. Personal data will be used for the purpose of administering the Sweepstakes, selecting prize winners, and notifying the winners.

Miscellaneous

If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, including without limitation, any suspected evidence of tampering or technological corruption or if any portion of the contest is compromised by a virus, bugs, worms or unauthorized human intervention, an insufficient number of qualified Sweepstakes entries, or any other causes beyond Icelandia’s control which, in its sole opinion, corrupts, threatens, or impairs the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Icelandia reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes at its sole discretion.
